Chennai February 17, 2018: Mr. K. Pandiarajan, Minister for Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture, Government of Tamil Nadu, has launched here today a Tamil courseware that introduces AutoCAD, a leading engineering design software, to high school and college students, in the presence of Mr. Paneer Selvam, Principal Director, MSME Technology Development Centre, Government of India and Dr. S. Ganesan, Registrar, Anna University, who took part in the launch event as Guests of Honour. Mr. R. Parthasarathy, Chairman, CADD Centre, was also present.

The Tamil courseware is brought out by CADD Centre, Asia’s largest CAD training institute, for the benefit of Tamil students who would find it easy to learn the basics of CAD with the course material written in their mother tongue. As part of its inclusive CAD education initiative, CADD Centre has already introduced courseware in other regional languages such as Malayalam and Kannada, apart from Hindi, for its popular CAD software training programmes.

Commenting on the courseware in regional languages, Mr. S. Karaiadiselvan, Managing Director, CADD Centre, said that the need for CAD skills is growing exponentially in India and elsewhere. However, for students from tier II and tier III cities, who are not well versed in English, often the language comes in the way of learning CAD. As India’s largest CAD training institute, we at CADD Centre, have taken the responsibility to develop courseware in as many regional languages as possible that would benefit these students and make CAD education more inclusive. The course materials and instruction in regional languages will help the students grasp CAD and engineering design concepts and apply them with a great deal of confidence.

He added that the courseware - and reference guides - will also have English content wherever relevant. The newly launched Tamil courseware for AutoCAD Primer, an introductory AutoCAD training programme, is meant for the higher secondary and Engineering college students in Tamil Nadu. With the introduction of the Tamil courseware, the CADD Centre institutes across the State will now give the option for the students to learn CAD with Tamil as the language of instruction. CADD Centre hopes to reach the Tamil courseware to 10,000 Tamil students this year.

Mr. Selvan said that with its over 500 CAD training centres across India and overseas, CADD Centre trains 1.5 lakh students in over 100 courses in engineering design software every year. The introduction of courseware in regional languages will bring several thousands of new students and create a CAD talent pool locally.

Commenting about the Award, Mr Gaurva Marya, Chairman, Franchise India, the organizer of the Indian Education Congress, said that employer-employee engagement is becoming a business imperative especially in knowledge industry. Top management is finding it important to engage employees in every aspect of business – from developing strategy to its final execution. It is no more the job of a CEO or a small committee to decide on the future course of business.

" Our special award recognizes organizations that are committed to employee engagement. We take great pride in giving away the award for 2013 to CADD Centre (P) Limited. CADD Centre's pioneering employer engagement initiatives in the education sector has helped it expand its network from a single centre in 1995 to about 400 in 2013.

This institution has built a culture of intrapreneurship. The company has an Employee Empowerment Manager and a support team to identify opportunities to bring the top management and the rest of the team closer. It goes one step further to turn its employees into franchise owners. About fifty percent of its current franchise owners are its own employees, which is a laudable achievement,” he added.

On receiving the special award, Mr S Karaiadiselvan, Managing Director, CADD Centre Training Services (P) Limited, said, “Employee engagement is actually good for business. But in order to make employee engagement happen, organizations have to not only create opportunities but also train the employees to make use of the opportunities. That way training is a pre-requisite to employee engagement.

He further said: “We have three main stakeholders when it comes to employee engagement:
1) our own staff, 2) our franchise partners, and 3) employees of our franchisees.

We provide a well established and rewarding career path for all our employees. Our objective is to help employees reach their full potential and make the so-called ordinary people deliver extra-ordinary results. Since they get exposure to all business functions, given the freedom they have to switch from one business function to another, they evolve into well rounded managers. When any of our experienced managers want to start off their own, we provide the option to become our own franchisees, which is a win-win for both of us.

When it comes to engaging our franchises, we start right from the scratch. We do not believe in one engagement model for all regions and markets. We jointly evolve the franchise business – our franchise owners take part in the process of identifying suitable locations, suitable courses, developing customized courses for their markets, and in designing marketing campaigns. Hence, our franchise success rate is over 95%. All our franchise partners, who are with us for more than three years are making profits.

We have what we call Internal Training Academy (ITA) that takes care of training the staff of franchise centres. Important among the training programs offered by ITA is the structured train the trainer programs offered to faculties. We get engineers, who developed the software products, to train our staff, and the staff in turn train all the faculty members of franchises. We also conduct PRIMO, a three day program that help franchise partners develop future leaders. This program touches upon all core areas of running a training business and also the ways to overcome various business challenges. It makes an individual equipped to handle the business with lot more maturity in the days to come.”

To Provide Customized Training in College Campuses to Make Students CAD-Ready

Chennai, April 22, 2013: Hindustan University, one of the leading institutions in Tamil Nadu has signed a MoU with CADD Centre, Asia's largest CAD training institution, to provide customized, and value-added CAD training programmes optionally for engineering students to improve their selection in campus interviews. Mr.Anand Jacob Verghese, the Pro Chancellor of Hindustan University said “The industry expects candidates to be CAD-ready, since product designs across all industries are done using CAD. By undergoing a CAD course, our students can cross the first level of selection instantly. When we have CAD-ready students, we have a better chance to attract many companies for campus recruitments”.

The Director of Hindustan University Mr.Ashok Verghese said “though students realize and understand the need to learn CAD, many of them are unable to learn CAD due to lack of time. So, when we offer the courses at the college premises itself, our students will be able to learn CAD without having to travel to outside our campuses. This CAD training within campus will enable the entire class to acquire CAD skills and be job ready,” he further added that the colleges propose to allocate specific timing for the CAD training.

CADD Centre has sixty similar college partnerships across India. While colleges teach engineering concepts very well, they may not have resources and time to impart practical CAD training on specific CAD products. Thus, with CADD Centre's partnership, they can fill the training gap and help students get jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The Chennai-based CADD Centre, Asia's largest network of CAD training centres, is introducing a course on geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), a symbolic language used to precisely define the geometry of mechanical parts, for students and working professionals to enhance quality in designing and production processes. The key modules of the course, which is covered in a 16-hour theory and workshop session, are: dimensional tolerancing, limits&fits, geometric tolerance, and modifiers.

Commenting about the significance of GD&T, Mr Karaiadi Selvan, Managing Director, CADD Centre, said that GD&T introduces tools that allow mechanical designers to effectively communicate complex geometrical descriptions which are otherwise not possible using a defined language. It is successfully used in the automotive, aerospace, electronic and the commercial design and manufacturing industries.

He said that formal training in GD&T enhances the employability of students, as more and more Indian companies that maintain quality, cut cost and reduce wastage in the designing and production process, want to recruit engineers who have good knowledge on GD&T. The implementation of GD&T techniques is regarded crucial by Indian industries, gearing up to improve their production and quality standards to compete in the global market. GD&T is also a part of 6-sigma standards. In India, approximately, about 25,000 design engineers with GD&T background are hired by the industry every month.

CADD Centre has developed the course material inhouse. It uses flash media to train students on GD&T, and uses MCADD software to demonstrate the use of GD&T. Mr Selvan said that the course will be offered to all mechanical students who have enrolled in 3D modeling courses at no extra cost. The working professionals can exclusively enrol in GD&T courses. The course fee in India is Rs 2900 excluding taxes. CADD Centre is expected to train at least 25,000 mechanical students in GD&T in India by the end of 2011–12.
